I'm also considering a level system that's based on user contribution. Basically, the more helpful a user is in contributing resources and comments, the higher their level. This confers a badge for your website that displays some useful statistics and shows off how awesome you are. Does that sound useful?
Hopefully, they didn't announce anything at the one last year. They aren't tied to announcing releases at any particular time, so when it is close to being done I guess they choose the closest relevant conference/event for the reveal (GDC, Siggraph etc...).
haha, im back from Nordic Game Conference and what has happened to my thread? :--D ..i actually thought naming it that way when conversation started to drift around bacon, but i never did. Well now it's fixed!
[ QUOTE ] In the days following the Game Developers Conference, one particular lecture has been causing significant interest and controversy in the game development community - ' Burning Down the House: Game Developers Rant'. Just wanted to add that AMD announced the Ryzen 9 3950x, 16 core processor yesterday during their E3 conference. 749$ Price, releases in mid September this year. Also, really appreciate this thread as I'm planning to build a new computer this year! It's been very informative.
can't you just have skype running in the background in conference call to your buddies? Also... the difficulty doesn't really bother me. I am having fun, and i am the kind of player that plays game on hard difficulty right out of the bat the first time.
I'd watch/participate also. Are you doing a thing like Animation Mentor where you have a video conference style class or is this more like a televised lecture? Anyway it sounds cool whatever the format is and I'd like to check it out and offer feedback if you're interested.
Check the E3 press conference, it looks like they have great plans for it. Their example was for a racing game. Took a car from a game on the 360 and tweaked it on a cell phone, then took it onto the computer to edit the paint job, then took it back to the 360 to race the thing. And apparently that's only the start.
hey DAz, Bay raitt did a quick pass on an ant lion model with Z-brush for them in like 20 mins at a conference. It made valve stick with normal maps,( valve was decideing whether or not use normal maps at the time) Source. The booklet that came with the Special edition.
Just got back from PAX. Hit my goal for the conference, and I weighed in this morning at 278.7 Still pretty sore from all that walking around Seattle, but I'm going to hit the gym tonight anyway, since I was missing it a bit.
