But what is it that I don't understand? I've been playing video games for 20+ years. Why would someone like me, who clearly has a vested interest in game art production and will likely release his own game some day, want to lie or distort something that clearly affects me at the end of the day? If someone has the answer to…
The videos are great! thanks for letting us see into some of your random processes. I wonder, if you use Adv.Painter Plug for material boundries, do those tron lines bake to the UV's? or do you paint onto the High Poly then reference the tron tubes when creating the low poly?
It's okay, Gameloft are within legal boundries, they can rip all they want, I'd even bet they quite often have the "how far can we go" discussions with their lawyers, I'm not even kidding. So you don't have to worry about not seeing more of their rich and deep titles.
Looks like that was added to max9. Seriously what are you doing on max8? 9 is pushing the boundries of dinosaur land. There might be some simple edits you can try on your end to drop or comment out that line. But in order for the icons to refresh you would probably have to restart 3dsmax.
I get that feeling when I see two very very different materials touching each other at a boundry with absolutely no "transition" from one material to another at the adjacent areas. Makes real life feel like legos when you spend a lot of time making transitions in 3d.
Hey, At the start of this year I decided to learn MODO in order to add another skill to the set. I aim to use it chiefly for modeling as it seems to have an amazing set of tools for creating props and hard surface assets. So I think I need a place to ask embarrassingly dumb questions in the name of progress and I trust…
We need a dedicated Sci-Fi Hard Surface environmental artist. Our concepts include some interesting themes that you must also be comfortable with, including: a foundry (flowing hot tempered steel), a flooded sector (with some water damage and growths from sea life), a factory (with textures set up in a specific fashion so…
well personaly i think this is going to be the greatest movie eveer made, The rock is a fine actor and im sure will pull more than his usual 3 facial expressions in this one. This is bound to be a wold blockbuster, bigger than lord of the rings, breaking boundries in cinamatic quality and excelence! if this doesnt rock…
So many wonderful work since my last visit. Haha, well a bit wrong placed as I am not really game industry orientated. But Polycount is probably the nicest community about 2D and 3D art I've ever found. I guess I am fine here in sketch thread then, am I? So here's a simple 2D caricature of Anthony Hopkins getting a little…
It's not easy. For the most part it seems like people detach them. I've also seen people leave them attached but they relax like crap because there are so many folds. If you leave them attached, it normally relaxes better if you run relax on a selection of verts (with soft select turned on) instead of the entire head. Try…
