Yeah it's pretty common now. There's a sticky thread here on the General Discussion page. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101777&page=35 There's also another one in the Dota 2 Thread I think that's mainly for Dota 2 art.
I have a slightly older copy of the Guild Handbook: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines. Its a great asset to have. Deffinatly worth the 35-40 dollar price tag. I would greatly recommend it to any freelance artist starting out.
Depends... do you consider 35 to be really old? I guess I use to, but not anymore. We're the same age, so we were both 21 when we got married (well, it was a week before she became 21).
We just had a 35 year old intern. Took him on for a few months contract as a junior afterwards as well. Age isnt an issue - competence, personality and breast to waist ratio are the main factors (That last one may not be entirely serious)
Oxy: its usually != Wait, so 7/10 of 1 degree for the whole world over 35 years is a big deal? I'm sure I'm wrong and theres a difference between surface temp and air temp, but I'm a noob about that.
I think it's "normal". I've always seen FPS counts of 3000+ and viewport framerates of about 35-40. I'm assuming Max's FPS counter is counting the time it takes to send messages to the API, rather than the full frame time.
I got my first gig at 27, I'm 35 now. I haven't seen or heard of any age discrimination. The only things which should really matter when interviewing are personality and skill vs experience, age is irrelevant.
Hi! This sounds like a nice project. I'm really into characters and stylized textures. I also have a lot of experience with Mixamo. Check out my 3D portfolio! Pay rate is $35/hr. Send me a PM if you're interested :)
