I should be getting a Sigma 24/1.8 EX today, selling the 24/2.8 and 35/1.8 and consolidating down to one lens, I'm pretty excited! Got it for $285 or about the cost of the Canon 24/2.8 =P Oh, also feel free to send me your 85mm if you're so bored with it. -

I'm having some trouble with my lighting / light maps. There's some seams and weird lighting artifacts. Everything is snapped to grid / perfectly aligned, but these things keep happening! I don't have all the correct numbers memorized, so you may need to mess around a bit. -Start out by making a cylinder with the number segments equal to the number of arches you want. Hi Eric, thanks for the response. This is just one of the crashes I'm having, I tried to open my 1.6 project again in 1.8 to make use of the mask painting feature. I right-clicked on a mask (not even sure why, just did) and I got this instant-crash. This is the one I seem to see a lot of in 1.8. -

I think I must be doing it wrong then. I just tried it and I'm getting my down-right vectors shadowed correctly, but my up-left vectors aren't. The darken version as I understand it will shorten any vector pointing right (greater than 128 ) but not the ones pointing left (less than 128 ). -

Tight know I'm making it uber large so later on I can scale it down later on, The bigger texture will be used for the High poly and the smaller (probably 128 x 128 ) for the game itself. The high poly would be for a cinematic kind of thing so the poly budget is fairly big for a can. -

Just a box, no fancy edges or axis? You should be able to add /2 to the scale value of the axis you want (which would cause both sides to scale in until the box is 128 units on that axis), or select the verts/face on one side and add -128 units to the transform value of that axis if you only wanted one side to move. -

That's... not a normal map. It's just 128, 128, 255 blue with the displacement subtracted from the red/green channels? If you want to make a normal map from a heightmap, go use something like nVidia's normal map filter, but it won't be as good a normal map as say high poly modelling the dartboard and baking it. -
battle babe
Well,thats my first model (and post) here,a girl that i wanted to submit for cgtalk`s MGAC about..a month ago The topic was "battle babe" I think she`s kinda finished,looking somewhat bland but oh well. She`s 1620 tris,one 256 map for body ,one 128 for head and one disgustingly bad 128 map for gun.(yeah I´m lazy.)
