So, like, I was trying to get the "Run 'n Gun" achievement that required running down the street and shooting random people, except I got shot in the leg. No problem, it's a game, I can relo-- --ohshit. MY LEG!
True. But 3dc's other retopo tools are still available to clean up, i.e. blow the n-gons & tris and simply stroke or rebuild new loops or quads. I don't think auto-retopo was meant as an end all feature.
I'm at the point where I'd rather they just get on with the fucking story and stop beating around the bush with all these splintering off-shoot vignettes. its fun and cool, and lots of dramatic changes n such... but damnit, im getting bored :)
Sunshine was freakin awesome. Im also very excited to see this, but I have to agree with what others have said... there's something terribly familiar about this. Im sure its going to be well worth admission either way. -N!
I've been doodling a bit step 1: slicing heightmaps up at <n> intervals so we get a volume source : step 2 : some hasty (read improper) transforms gives us a pseudo 3d view I can't be bothered now but I do have a distance field for each line so in principle I could make this "solid"
Remington 870 Shotgun WIP. Modeled this after watching Millenia's M37 tutorial. Looking for critiques. I still have to work on the barrel, magazine tube, rail, shell, and the bolt. 3ds max 3point shader 2k D,N,S,G 3.578 Triangles
That n-gon is just an oddly shaped quad, and there's artifacting everywhere else on the model which lead to just a smoothing on the low res. But I do agree, you should triangulate properly upon export and not let bakers/engines triangulate for you.
In maya you can select using constraints like flipped normals, n-gons, etc. Is there a similar feature in 3ds max. It's the one thing that I really cant find a quick way of doing in max that I'm use to doing quickly in maya.
Crash is in town and I know there's a bunch of us up this way... anyone fancy a meet up in Leeds on Saturday? Start off in what was Baroque, go for food and have a wander round n stuff and hopefully get drunk in the process :P Anyone interested?
