one last question, sorry im a decent digital artist but have never made a skin, did you have to apply the skin piece by piece or did you just draw it on? if so is there a video or something showing how to just transfer a drawing onto a weapon?
I think I might start posting regular class drawings once a week instead of just peppering things here and there. Here is week #42 of 2014. Inkbrush croquis, daily skulls, conte studies, life drawings in charcoal... Same old, same old:
Nice drawing, cute littlge girl, she's getting big. How many kids do you have? I really hope more than one cause I remember you doing drawings of a baby and I'm going to feel really old if that was her.
Do some research on drawing clothing, especially line drawing -- that's where you'll find the most information about how cloth folds happen and how to represent them realistically. Once you've got that, applying the theory to a mesh would be much easier.
alexd thank you! Here is something to completely terrify you! MY BEAUTIFUL DRAWING SKILLS!!1 Are you still there? well, you are the tough one! As you can see I draw the concept and started sketching helmet inside zbrush. thanks!
Today started a project, but the morning kicked off with some posing and gesture drawing. Tried digital drawing at least to start getting used to it and it took forever to get a bad result so, I'll have to restructure my approach. https://imgur.com/kuAPeLU
I saw that video in the other thread and I want that in maya's Quad Draw tool, it's really slick. We can Tab+LMB to draw out strips with directionality, but it doesn't have the elegance, precision and little need for cleanup that the F2 script has.
Line Drawings FTW! I hate when i get a concept of a bunch of brush strokes it doesn't help. also hearing that some concept artist's refuse to do line drawings because they think its not and epic mood painting piece ugh
I agree with Rhinokey and etb342. Many of your drawings seem a bit stiff, but with some reference usage and possibly going to some life drawing workshops (if they're available to you) it will help you immensely. It never hurts to go back to basic sometimes =]
I've put together a concept drawing of my throne room as I am envisioning it so far. I made a little blockout in Sketchup to draw over. I'm still working on the concept as I go, but any feedback on the design thus far would be much appreciated!
