yay! after months of delays the demo is finally out tomorrow (Thursday, Aug 21). http://www.starwars.com/games/videogames/news20080816.html it is supposed to be a full level with it's own custom story line for the demo and a tutorial on how to Force Grip properly. :D :D :D
Hi everyone, I'm making this new environment. I worked on this some months ago actually, but I've never gotten to finishing it. Now I'd like to finish it up. The plan is for a rather simple sci-fi environment, but I'd like to use decals for the details of the building and test this workflow.
I'm sorry I missed this discussion when it was started a decade ago, and I'm sorry that the links above are broken, but I'll add my comments now for the record. I published a paper about pie menus in the proceedings of 1988 ACM SIGCHI conference called “An Empirical Comparison of Pie vs. Linear Menus”, in which we measured…
This is looking great! Really like the amount of clutter on the ground level, helps to break up the ground textures and create that sense of depth that you find in nature. Are the branches decals/alpha planes or meshes?
updated there sorry for the delay guys, getting married takes time =] about the finished entries, plz guys, dont forget that is the smaller thumbnail, the one that appears on your workshop page, like this one
They are, they're just horribly overpriced for something that's a decade old. For the price of a pen i could get a whole intuos3 off of ebay (which I would then pay double to ship to europe :P)
New destruction is looking nice. Are they decals or did you go back and add Vertex Colors for a blend layer? Congrats on the Crytek Twitter post too  Looking forward to seeing more
tiny update :D got rid of the normals on the floor, variations on the decals, ceiling a bit less "white", DOF fixed. later ill post some more images :) cnc's welcome as always :)
-added some props laying around -tried out different textures on some of surfaces -added a grating on the wall and put some pipes behind it -added more decals As usual, feedback is welcome.
You can never go wrong with expanded portfolio work. If it's good enough, your location won't matter at all. That goes hand in hand with Dustin's comments-delaying gratification and adding in a plan.
