Really thank you all guys for the support! I feel like I might getting back to it again! Here's what I'm gonna model next! (just a rough sketch, needs more refinement) I would like to hear your critique and feedback. It's supposed to be a demon huntresses revolver, both for ranged and melee combat.
I could nitpick a lot. The snow material is indeed missing something. Proper sparkly snow, too clean for looking so bumpy and melted, etc. Trees lack good up close lod, exposing an overly polygonal look. But overall... damn that's awesome. Very unified, everything's well done, great job really.
I think you have some cool fashion going on here and silhouette looks appealing. My only issue is that Jinx is about guns... Lots of guns... like all about guns and range. I get melee from this, not range. Fencing might not be the best theme unless you can turn swords into gunblades.
GeoDav over at the UDK forums noted that my wear and tear on the assets look like bullet holes, id like to make sure everyone knows im aiming for a more 40k vibe, im not looking to add fantasy warhammer damage such as melee weapon / magic damage, these are meant to look like hefty bolter bullets or similar! =]
Thanks for your attention BARDLER, I know a little of this process using the xNormal, but I'm inexperienced, I'm beginning to study character development now, but I love scenery and melee weapons, then summarizing I will not get a realistic result or near this only using 2D ART and mapping and I really need to use one mesh…
hey welcome! im here in MTL as well, currently not going out much as im self imposing basically being locked in my apartment all day working on a new project during winter, but as the snow melts and summer arrives, I will be down for many a beer on the terrasses! suns out, guns out baby :D
ohhh Thiago, you melt my heart good sir :) It would be great to hear some insight in how you start these projects, how do you choose a style / how you go about building these pieces and creating your textures. You've become one of my fav artists buddy, really pumped for this :)
That looks pretty nice, but you know what I just was thinking of? How is he going to be able to use his secondary or melee attacks? I think you may have to move it to his left arm or something so he can still have it attached and just shoot/eat and punch with one arm.
I've seen the anti-table crowd show up plenty of times on Polycount but I haven't actually seen it hurt anyone. I had Andrew's portfolio open on my computer and a passing coworker stopped to look at it, job done! Best portfolio ever that probably melts smartphones and people with datacaps: B1ll's wall of art
Good point. Many of the SIGGRAPH 2005 papers are linked here: http://www.cs.brown.edu/~tor/sig2005.html As StrangeFate says, UDN is a great resource. http://udn.epicgames.com/Main/WebHome Also RealityEngine has a great deal of info on their site. Grab it before it melts into Epic...…
