Yes. Sub-D Modeling or Highpoly Sculpting are common approaches. For plain surfaces like walls (no brick) some people prefer tools/programms for photoshop.
Here is an update addressing the feedback. Any C&C welcome. Thanks for checking it out! Still in highpoly w/ material tests on it. Not yet into low and bakes.
Kind of dick move to post your finished work in someone else's thread. As for the OP, watch your edge sharpness on the highpoly they will not bake down to well.

does it really have to be so lowpoly? theres no way your going to get a good bake anyway, the lowpoly and the highpoly are just too vastly different....
