Hey danshewan. I am not sure what is the second way you are talking about, but what I do is lets say for the gloss map - just flatten all the layers of your file for the gloss map and copy it this one layer , open the channels tab and if you dont have alpha channel create new one and paste your layer with the gloss map… -

He's mighty unhealthy looking. I suppose he's what one would expct a goblin thats been locked in a dungeon for years to look like, but I can't imagine he'll be much of a threat to the player. With regards to the colour, you're far better to use a gradient map on an adjustment layer than trying to overlay a single colour.… -

That looks great! It's got a really interesting structure and an appealing colour scheme. The laser beam looks awesome too! The only suggestions I'd make are making the weapon's trigger clearer (from the latest screenshots it looks like it's missing?) and making differences in materials clearer, at the moment it looks like… -

+1 for less bullet holes. I really don't think it's giving any personality or going to individualize your scene. Besides, standard "bullet" holes don't sell too much story in a high techs environment like yours, maybe scorch marks from laser beams or some organic bio weaponry - melting acid, yea, acid. -

It's not laser scanning or photogrammetry, but a form of RTI so it's more of a way of capturing textures, rather than a 3D model. This material is mapped to a plane primitive with alpha. wow thanks for all the responses guys! Guess I should've said what kind of gun I'm making, I'm doing an m1 garand with a scope and laser sight. Definitely got a good feeling for where I should aim for, but of course I'll try and keep it as low as possible. Thanks again and I'll be posting in pimping and previews soon… -

I had a very large birthmark on the side of my face since I was born, pretty much two-face, and took extremely painful laser treatments to remove it from the age of 3-18 it's faded, but now i am fairly numb to any kind of pain except for heat, which i strangely seem to be extra sensitive to -

Nice stuff. The highpoly is good, but i don't really like the texture though, it's a bit generic and all orange/red. Could be nice to add some bullet impacts ( yeah, bullets in space, I know it's stupid ^^ ), or laser impacts maybe, instead of having the same scartches everywhere. I would definitely buy a game with this… -
