Yeah this pretty much sums up what I feel has gone on lately. We have a ton of new people and it is nice to see so many faces taking an interest in Polycount BUT I think a lot of the newer guys/gals don't quite understand the culture Polycount has had in the past and why guys like Gav and myself are getting a little…
Hope someone comes around until then i did some searching for the situation or any helpful tips that might help, i do not have this version of max so idk but otherwise i use follow path constraint and manually do things but usually do not need acurate "animations" per-say to do what i need for portfolio reasons. 1. 2. 3.…
I smoke and have felt the effects of cancer in my family. I'll give this a few cycles on my mac. [edit] well, I would have, but the install is so facetious I gave up! You download some software then it asks for a url, username and password. Hardly user friendly [/edit]
1. 2. 3. 4. I want to bake the normals from the mesh detail in picture 4 onto some low poly planes in picture 3. I wish I could take some of the UV islands that don't contain anything other than color and make them super tiny and place them over an area with only color, however those that fit that description contain more…
Great stuff! I really enjoyed seeing the engine/maya side by side, and getting an understanding for some of those animation set pieces you were able to work with.
Thank you. Note that concept is not mine. I am not trying to be atm concept artist.. My goal is learn zbrush better and feel like home when i use the sofware. Hi! Cool to see an update. I must say though, the shading on the terminal still looks off, like the normal map is not working with the mesh shading. I would doublecheck against the shading in your texturing app that all looks as intended in engine. If you want a second pair of eyes on it, feel free to share files (for…
smart materials and mask are just convenience time savers. if you can look at a model and recognize that there is grease where there should be grease, the only technical thing you have to know to do l is how to use a layer mask. You make a fill layer for the grease, you mask it black, and then paint white to expose the…
To make that tile you'll run into the same distortion issues again, i would probably just texture it uniquely and try to fix any seams in 3d painting app or something of that nature. Stone or concrete is going to be noisy enough that it shouldn't be a huge issue. Instance and then rotate that same piece around 3 more times…
