And some of the scratches give off a darker color, that wouldnt happen. It would take off the paint and leave the pure metal color. but you really dont… -

Done right you can easily populate this size, the size of my latest project is probably bigger than this scope :P However, proper planning and groundwork is needed. But yes, if you're not used to making bigger things it's better off to start off small and focused on nice detail, it's hard enough to make one good-looking… -

The short brick wall is so people don't fall off the balcony. (notice the boarded up door) and the pipe sticking out is to allow rain water to drain off the balcony, because the railings are elevated the water wont drain and will pool. At the moment the face is really far off the concept, nose is off, eyes, head shape are all incorrect. It's not that far but it needs to be pushed to looking the same, should have been done before you textured it. Too symmetrical at the moment. Anatomy on chest is a bit non existent. Re: 3D Coat splits mah UV's!
Just to update anyone with the same problem, after a few tests I think poopipe was right - I switched all the OBJ export settings from Maya (Groups, Materials, Smoothing) to Off and when importing back from 3D Coat didn't get any seams in the UV. Still have to see if I get problems later as it could just be a 'one off' but…
