Tires are too clear add some dust and dirt and apply a specular map onto the tank as it looks like it doesn't have it.Try tweaking the contrast as i cant see any dust on the tank or use unsharpen filter in photoshop/gimp.
I used to really like that game when it was a mod for UT2004, especially the tank (vs tank) vs infantry combat is great. But that steam release means that there is no Linux version anymore, so money from me (besides other steam issues).
7 Meters!!! If your tank is modelled to scale then the distance should be about about 10cm AO is shadow based on proximity. If you dont want the ground to shadow the bottom of the tank then you reduce the distance so that its shorter than the distance between the bottom and the ground.
