I think it has to do with loading and unloading textures. Everything gets loaded into a slot regardless of its size. When it comes time to swap out textures you're not stuck looking at the sizes to find one that matches, you need a slot you fill a slot. Its a bit like having a shoe cubby and not caring what size of shoes…
It turns out that IPR acts the same as the viewport with the upstream connection in place. It only fully evaluates the network on a full render, which is still quick-ish. I did write a "switcheroo" script to swap all the extra attribute outputs from the material node into inputs, which gives a one-way ticket to each…
Thank you both for the kind words, and yes i do see how the white is rather blinding now, typically my monitor is set to the lowest brightness to avoid strain so i dont notice till its on someone elses screen or i happen to crank mine up. yep the materials need some work to get them looking right i have touched up the…
Might be because you are the first one in this thread to slag off the games that other people hold dear, once more irritatingly insisting on the use of your very own made up derogatory terms. I get it, someone in your past didn't like the games you liked and maybe gave you a hard time, but on this forum it's mainly you who…
are you trying to do this just within a material or with full mesh pieces that move? i know you can control material parameters with kismet so you should be able to just add each piece on top of each other in the material editor and control the rotation via kismet. if you do a bit of math and set it up so that if each…
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of a site that referenced martial weapons over human history, featuring all different cultures and time periods. The closest thing I've been able to find are the 3d.sk photo sets (Which aren't free and seem to be somewhat limited to Medieval periods) and the occasional Google image.…
Back to the water and vines of the center scene レ(゚ロ゚ ; )ヘ ≡≡=== Like I mentioned, not a fan of the implemented water include with The Courtyard, mainly because of the non-reflection of shadows. So here's what it looks like now. From left to right you can see where I started and where I ended up trying different methods…
i opened your file--your red and green channels are swapped, and both red green are flipped. in the "normal bump" slot check off all the "channel direction" checkboxes and render, it should look fine. you should change your swizzle settings in your baker from now on so you don't need to do this, though. jeez, people around…
No they don't. The real pros who have to deck out entire studios will still stick to HP/Dell/Lenovo for their workstation needs. It's pretty obvious Apple has totally given up on that market (shame). But maybe Pixar and Disney with their server/storage farms have need for a box like this. I can see some advantages if you…
good luck dude, been trying to figure out if I have time for this myself (not lookin good) and thinking about where to start. first off there is literally a TON of art on google and you could easily appropriate something like this as a start for the base. If you browse the 100's of pics in the conceptart.org thread you…
