there was an hour long video from a conference describing the workflow and how they used the same head mesh for all the characters etc but i dont remember where i found it ...i think there was a link on maxunderground.com...do a search
I got some business cards printed for the Nordic Game 2012 conference (in a local shop). This design was just quickly put together, the next cards will be final ones.. With rounded corners, double sided and all that trickery.
max is changing. XBR is hailed as a big thing and so far it seems it is! they had mentioned in a web conference some months ago they were thinking about a complete overhaul and there are signs that they are tampering heavily with the interface (i.e. graphite tools). so there you go.
Start here: http://www.gdconf.com/conference/c4p/ It looks like the call for submissions is closed for 2015, but you might want to look into 2016. I haven't given a talk myself, but a few polycounters have. Maybe someone can chime in with additional advice.
Haha ^ Very good eye, thats awesome! This is hands down my favourite game of the conferences. I've rewatched that trailer a few times now. Really excited to get my hands on this. How do you think this will stack up against Destiny?
Is anyone else planning on hitting up the East Coast Games Conference this year? It's April 24th/25th in Raleigh: http://ecgconf.com/ Two of my coworkers and I are getting sent by work, so if there are going to be any Polycounters there we should meet up! :D
I can't wait to play it. But I'll be at the Unite Conference next week and won't get a chance until I get back. I'm sure my co-workers who are staying home will be sending me text letting me know how awesome it is.
Yea, they have a pretty epic setup! Have you heard about their Ballpit conference room? I actually got to go in there, haha. This vid also has some other cool EA stuff! [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m43GW9alZKs[/ame]
I think Funcom used Blender primarily for modeling on a Lego game they did some time ago. I remember reading about a conference they did on using Blender for game art, but it's a bit vague in my memory. Maybe someone can exhume some links.
I met Shane Acker at a conference once (he was the keynote speaker, and socialized with some folks at the after party) and he was a really cool guy. 9 had it's flaws but I liked it. This sounds like an awesome collaboration, I look forward to seeing what comes of it.
