Hey, I wonder if anyone ever tried making something like this with CAT in 3ds max "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQbIep0ktk8" If so - what's the best workflow to animate those hip movements? Since you can only use Pin Bone in CAT but not actually use separate controls for hips and spine... Or beter not even torture myself…
Man, I love the movement of many of these animations! Hell, I love all of them. So refreshing to see people put in the huge amount of effort required in making things move naturally. To many, it seems easy. Most have been spoiled by motion capture and mere cleanup. +1 to everyone in this thread. I've got 15 more pages to…
You should really concentrate on the timing/spacing on these bouncing balls. Right now the falling of the ball feels off because it takes too long to fall and bounce back up. If you have the animators survival guide(which you should get if you dont) there is a much better explanation of how to apply these…
Can't believe I am actually about to Crit such an awesome animator compared to myself but I feel that with the amount of particles that are emitted because of the strike that maybe on the highest point his back could be arched a slight bit more and the strike down could maybe benefit from been a frame or 2 faster? Take…
nice one - i did a google image search for "bouncing ball animation arc" and there's heaps of pics showing how to go about it :) bear in mind you need to decide what kind of weight the ball might have too - its a good exercise to do say 3 different balls bouncing down a flight of steps.. bowling ball, tennis ball and maybe…
Hey Sketch404, Yeah, you'd be right to say that The effects were more or less an afterthought. They were slapped on at the very end to see if I could make something visually interesting ____ I began to learn Flash this week, and decided to do a short speed anim while I figure things out. (Edit: Fixed Link)…
not speedy at all, took me a few hours.. trying to wrap my logically thinking brain around biped still.. have to get used to it for a dream job coming up.. tons of stuff to fix in that animation, especially thowards the end.. but if I spend any more time with the curves I will go postal and kill everyone in my apartment..…
This is a 25 minute blocked out gorilla type walk with a biped bruiser type character. Currently in linear, timed on odd, and with only essential breakdowns to communicate the walk. I'll polish tomorrow and limit myself to 15 minutes or so since I'm not doing this back to back. But for now I wanted to get something up on…
Hey Wezdan , Yeah. It was a mix between the two. :icon60: There were a few bits n'bobs with that animation that needed to be done in 2D - Mostly because it would have taken too long to accomplish in 3d. The Rope and a few visualFX were pencil'd in, but the rest of it.. the Character & GrapplingGun... were done in 3d. - - -…
For anyone who's interested, I've rigged up the Captain Beefheart model graciously provided by Gav. It's rigged in Maya, .mb format. There's nothing fancy like sliders for the fingers, or IK/FK switching - because, well, I don't know how to do those at the moment. So there's no shortcuts in animating it, but at least it's…
