Used an electric razor for a while but switched to wet shaving and I can never go back. I alsways shave under the shower and trim the burns afterwards in front of the mirror. All together it probably takes as much time either way. A wet shave feels smoother and less itchy afterwards. At least to me.
Who didn't get the memo!? I thought we where done with this, I thought everyone trimmed the fat and set their budgets for this year and we were moving forward. I can't wait until we're out of the first quarter of 09... Sorry to hear about the loss, I hope everyone lands on their feet.
Nice set. My only real criticism is that the hand-guard on his sword looks disproportionately large. The blocky shape of it also clashes with the smooth curves of the blade itself. Also, I'd add a a chunkier strip gold trim directly under the mohawk thing, to tie it in visually with the blade even more.
You won't get to look this right with low res lightmaps just because of the way how distance field shadows work. Instead of placing multiple flat planes next to each other without a trim in between, merge them to a single larger mesh. If it's one mesh already, stitch the UVs.
Lots of this stuff looks real nice. My main comment would be to try to break up the floor surface, it is very similar to the walls. Look at maybe a different texture or vertex painting. Also look at transitional edges where the walls meet the floor, they need trim or need to fit together properly.
Art looks solid overall. Some things don't seem to be needed in your portfolio. Try to trim it down to 10-15 images of your very best. It's a little generalized if your interested in games. I've gotta run so... I'll let some others take over from here...
real quick, I try to do this when I make broken concrete - TRIM DYNAMIC to get a more faceted feel. - GOUGE to get a refined broken look - then alpha some cracks and pits. Also be careful, a lot of detail can get lost in the normal so don't go off!
Hi Ravanna Thanks for the crit! I actually did have a specular color map, but didn't include because of space. This is what I had for color: But you're definitely right about wasting the quads on the face. I'm going to try and trim them down like you said. Thanks again!
MaD, You can either accomplish smoother edges via baking a high poly with rounded corners or bevel. Since they are rooftops, it may be wise choice to just bake in smooth edges. For increased detail on corners such as stairs, lower trims, etc You could use a combination of both, it's quite effective.
I wouldn't limit your colour palette to just green and black. It has to incorporate team colour/insignia, not solely use just that. So if you give your character's armour green trimming or something, or put Greentooth on the shoulder pads somewhere or on a belt buckle. That should be fine IMO. -caseyjones
