i just build things to match scale from the start, and setup a good grid system to work with in maya, than if n want to sculpt i goz from maya to zbrush with my prefectly scaled mesh
Thanks for sharing this, I love reading post-mortems. A bit late to say it, modifying the uppercase N character to be a bit wider (I think one extra pixel column does it), as it reads as uppercase H to me:
Is this for subdivision? If it smooths correctly, then you could probably leave it alone without any problem. N-gons seem less likely to cause problems on planar surfaces. The face above it looks to have at least 6 vertices.
looking nice like the lighting needs: some signage, leaks n drip decals, moar plants (maybe a new section with a planter that stickout into the pathway some, with a nice trailing plant that could creep into the rest of the scene
3d printing fun with lots of help from David Alarcon: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs6EGZNgee1/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet https://www.instagram.com/p/BtCCtrAAqQt/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt7RrVugC-N/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet
Stunning work as usual! How do you go about creating those tileable scifi textures, baking or straight up ndo magic? Oh and: Streama mer Tor, kollar varje dag ifall n
I wouldn't mark as hard the edges in that outside corner, instead it would work better if you add another subdivision and make it more round, like I did here: don't mind the n-gons ;P
more updates, all 512 maps so far, only other thing that will be 1024 will be the tumbler machine, but not that far yet still need to clean up the N maps a bit more EDIT: ALL THESE IMAGES ARE WRONG!
for all you losers out there that want a quick n dirty explanation on how gauss did that pic, check this bad boy exclusive .gif out: http://www.gausswerks.com/img/gausshunter.gif zatoichi me wants more!
diggin the texture so far. maybe go in and add some highlights to the edges of the bevels n whatnot. there are a bunch of automated methods for that. itll really make it pop. and also maybe tone down the "dirt" just a bit.
