Great art classes on YouTube. And painting on photoshop is invaluable skill for 3d artist. I think the ease and flexibility of digital painting is great for discovering the joy in creating. Just forget the results for awhile and have fun. Develop broader interest. -

bamboo will be a perfect replacement for your mouse and great tool to use in sculpting applications; if you plan to do digital painting, you will want to purchase a larger intuos at some point. if you work as a concept artist professionally, it will be a good investment. -

I think that for starting out, digital tutors will give you the most complete understanding of all the tools you have in Max, period. It may be slow, but you will no every single small thing. Or close to it. As well as develop good habits. -

I haven't bought a PC game in the last 10 years that didn't have some sorta anti-piracy system in place and steam is the easiest and transparent for me, no typing in a stupid 20 digit key or having to hang on to a box/booklet. -

Also it's very important to keep in mind that the VERY beginning and most fundamentally important part is that you become a good 2D artist and digital painter ! All the best texture artists you will find are also very good 2D artist. -

Steam has been a really solid digital distribution system for a while now, despite me despising it in it's infancy. Crysis however, I couldn't care less for. Same story as Farcry imo = Amazing graphics but it bores you to sleep. -

Hey Brad, great to see some animation on PC (one day, when the animators here number in the double digits, maybe we'll get our own sticky thread!) Look forward to checking out progress on the acting piece
