I wasn't there.. just pointing out they've been using rigs for capture etc for a lot longer than many people think. Given its RDR2 which is relatively recent I'd expect them to have leveraged their capture setup as it reduces the workload for animation etc. No captured data ever makes it to the game without extensive… -

Just to push this a bit further maybe consider the colour blends between surfaces... like the reflections from bounce lights should be considered to take the texturing to the next level so the golds should receive a little bit of red/dark silver etc from the parts surrounding it and vice versa on… -

I don't move the root control. Mainly because it produces 'quick' but linear movement to the body, where as properly posing every limb etc. can give a more organic feel. You can always just switch to FK anyways. :) Tbh though, I only do animation for games, so I actually don't know if it is much different for movies etc. -
