Here's a closeup of the hand. About the pose, someone in my class that wants to rig and animate it told me this pose would be best for him. Any help with the hands is appreciated. The two areas I find most difficult are faces and hands. So far I've managed to pull off a pretty decent face, so just the hands remain. :)
Most weapons have their own system of bones and the root bone gets snapped/aligned to a prob bone or the hand, by the engine. All weapons have the root bone in a similar location and that's how they get swapped out. I don't think anyone skins the weapon to the hand or links the weapons bone(s) to the hand unless it never…
i dont think you have even looked at hand references , try to put your hand in that position and when you break it you will know heheh , seriously , you have two hands, even if it is a basemesh for zbrush flat hands arent very good :S give it a more relaxed pose, this one doesnt benefit you in nothing.
