yeah a bit bad example as its curved in space, on a flat plane it will do the normal you want, otherwise you'll have to do it on a per face level -

Depending on the engine you're using and how flexible it is, you could try using your AO as a mask, like this: (the in-game example is rather crud, this image is oldddd) -

True. most of these companies have grown multiple folds over the past handful of years. EA for example. grew almost 10 folds since just 2013. -

It will get warm nowhere near how my laptop used to but when laying on a bed for example where the vents are covers it can warm up fairly fast. -
