Here's a side and front image of my creature's head. I'm not quite sure how to make the wireframe show up in a render, but I'll figure out a way if the wire frame would help
Show your wireframes! Also, experiment with this feature: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-26CAF521-851A-4F91-8937-C44B40BB20F2-htm.html
Looks like you got the hang of things. Some wireframes posts would give us a little more to look at too. You should try for something a little more creative and bold for your next piece.
UPDATE: Textures and lighting improved. Wireframe: ~57K tris including the axe. Vikings were actually very careful of their looks. They had a sense of fashion and grooming. Reference: http://www.hurstwic.org/history/articles/daily_living/text/health_and_medicine.htm
Thanks for the wireframe. You could optimize into 4 rows, but you'd lose some fidelity there. For selling it, it would be great to show all the pieces separated out, unlit, and the texture sheets. Pimp that good texture & uv work!
btw, the Senosoft browser is looking better and better. He added a hotkey for cycling the channels (rgb, r, g, b, alpha), thumbnail support for Max files, and it also shows shaded/wireframe previews for OBJs and the like.
How about showing some breakdowns? Wireframe, flat texture sheets, etc. Also is the 3d stuff being shown in a real-time application? I can't really tell except for the first piece being in sketchfab.
Nope, no script. Just animated a 360 degree rotation, Make Preview out to AVI, and converted to animated GIF. First tree doesn't look like it's shading correctly. 2nd tree... can you show the wireframe?
Well I've been toying with this idea, what would you guys think if I make images of ripped models of wireframes, specs, textures ect. and put them in my blog or something? Would that be pushing it a bit?
wow those trees look spectacular! How on earth did you manage to capture the volume so well? I would love to see texture sheets / wireframes but i guess thats never happening :P
