Update on the Highpoly sculpt of an SK sword I'm doing with Stefco. Heavily WIP! :D This is the concept http://i.imgur.com/7ApULbJ.jpg Note*: Those red lines are there to mark a known 'error'. The flesh part it's still floating, just put both the flesh and the blade together to take the WIP screenshot ^^.
I'm not much with characters, but I really like the leather chair. The chest kind of bothers me. The noise you used throughout the texture is the same. I think it would be different for the wood vs the metal parts. And the sword is a good start, maybe some more wear and tear on the blade.
with hand painting there is so much you can do it's almost mind blowing! here's a sword i did a few weeks ago see the handle? that goldish part? the one attaching the handle and the blade together. that's a flat image yet it doesn't look like it through the use of lighting.
Hold on, did i seriously come into a thread expecting people to squabble about debates and learn that BUSHIDO, THE ANCIENT CODE OF THE SAMURAI WARRIOR was the true solution to our nation's problems? Would that mean politicans would carry two swords and could kill commoners without legal oversight?
the color scheme feels very solid his knightly armored boots look like sleepers... how about if the sword strap and his arm straps featured the white+ruins design of the calf straps? as for the texture: the straps-lines are too pixelated, considering how smooth is your rendering.
Gears Of DOOM! Very nice, I think the right side needs something on the forearm to balance him some. Something like a retractable sword that's in two parts that slides forward on the top side of the bracer. It work as a small shield as well. really anything to give some more mass.
Thanks guys! :) Fenyce: hmm i can't remember any specifik tutorials. If you want to find some good pixel tutorials you can find some on deviantart. But i can recommend just looking at the pixel art in games like Sword and Sworcery and Other Brothers.
I had to dicontinue this set due to time constrains on my side aswell of tehcnical difficulties which emerged (mainly not enough tris budget to give this set propper shape). Only thing that i saved is this sword which i have published today: colab & concept: ShorkGamer
I agree with all of Hito's feedback. I love the little breaks in the cycles. I would consider removing the first swing of the big guys animation. It's a little awkward. And then have the second swing pound into the ground. He's kinda doing sword swings with the big club as it is right now.
Looks great. Only thing I would suggest is a bit more damage I guess it depends what you are going for a no need to over do it but a few sword hacks taken out of the main supports or something might look cool. Only a suggestion though. Nice work :)
