I personally found Mari to be much more flexible to what you can achieve in it. Dont get me wrong I love 3D coat too, its very cheap and easy to learn, plus has other nice feeatures. Cant say anything good about mudbox, really dont like all the tools it has as well as offsetted uv's out of 0 to 1 space that you cant see… -

I don't know of a way to tile like that in zbrush. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, I just never seen it. You could tile it in photoshop, or substance painter would be easiest as you can see it update in realtime, then shoot it back to zbrush and continue. and you could tile it in zbrush manually by stenciling the image onto… -
