oh man. I dunno hwo i feel about the third (updated original post). it got better towards the end, and it an interesting style of doing it all, but, just didnt feel like the same universe as the last two. at least, not till the end.
I use pmwiki for collecting tips and information, but I think you'd also need your own host. I seem to remember there being a wiki plugin for wordpress, but I can't recollect why I didn't end up using it in the end ;-)
I like the overall design. The shapes of the engines balance well with the body. I kind of wish the body would turn up at the tail end to complement the lower end of the front. Also, it's not obvious that the engines could rotate down(they're supposed to right?)
I'm not sure anyone will care as much about a boring diffuse map when they can clearly see that: a) the end result is good and b) the end result was achieved through good normal/spec/etc maps. Or you could just not show the diffuse.
Basicly from what I understand yeah, you would use a single unremarkable track texture tilled end to end and then add decals or whatever your engine supports for track details like cracks, potholes, warn areas etc etc.
[ QUOTE ] I love to see a game ending cutsceen where everyone -monsters,guards main char. and some tart run around Benny Hill Show style. Just sillyness to end an intense fighting game. [/ QUOTE ] Best...idea...EVER!
thanks for rating and suggestions so far. It ends in a few days but need more ratings still. It actually ends 3 days after I am getting married, so what better honeymoon present than that for a gamer/game artist hah.
Made a few changes on the colors and worked a bit on the lighting and toon outline (ended up using blender Freestyle render option and did nothing in UE4 in the end). I put it on artstation with more details : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/JlyGzR Tell me what you think :)
The green line on the UVW Map gizmo is the right side of your map (gradient, in this case). Rotate the gizmo so it's behind the head, this will put the black end of the gradient back there, and the white end on the nose. Press the Fit button to make it fit the head, this will prevent the gradient from tiling.
Looking great! Maybe add some cloth to the end of one blade to balance the sides out a bit more? Asymmetry is a really cool idea but it just feels a bit too side heavy right now IMO. And maybe make the Banners end with a 45 degree edge.
