ZenDavis. Please let these people make goodlooking assets from start to finish. Modeling plus texture. That way when your project grinds to a halt, they'll at least have some portfolio items.
TomGT You could count it as part of the Character if it makes sense. If the beast is holding an item in his hand or looking at an object, then yes. A piece of furniture or decor should be part of the pedestal though. Amaury Of course!
This value allows you to group items together in a new Tab inside Maya Attribute Editor. In 3dsMax I believe the value is ignored (since the Material Editor panel has no grouping for DX materials)
I'm pretty the Mac importer is still broken. I've tried uploading an item on a Mac and got some weird compiler error, then I went home and uploaded the same files on a PC and they worked fine.
wow, I load it up in 2013 to find the above item has totally delete all of its verts, and now a bunch of other things are doing the same. This is a really harsh disheartening lesson to learn :(
Started working on the corner building. I still have alot of work to do to get this building looking right. I also added in some quick placeholder items to give an overall feel for the building.
the XSI mod tool is pretty good for making assets for the source engine. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?siteID=123112&id=13571257 http://www.moddb.com/tutorials/game-development-tools
Been a while since i've been able to work on this. I'm lucky to get a free hour lately. Here's a few new block-in items. Going to try and get the wings blocked in tonight too.
you can actually try to make money from your exercises, for example you pudge's animation can easily be published at workshop as "taunt". And item sets with additional animations quite appreciated by community.
Reposting from the workshop thread My only suggestion is to have more of the top-down gradient thing. Right now the forms of each item slot isn't very recognizable from the in-game camera.
