Cavernous expanse filled with water. The entire 3rd level down was water with every tunnel and exploratory downstairs I dug. My dwarves had no access to stone at all.
@Devon M : Sometimes brush noises can create a nice random effect (I think about the stone especially) but usually I'm using the flatten or hpolish brushes :)
I'm with Alex. I'm liking where this is going. What's on the ground though? Is that a wet part? It's very bumpy and some angles make it look like wet stones or something.
Quick test, here is my gloss map which is in the alpha of my spec map, which is in the metal slot :) White parts are metal, dark parts are stone and wood.
Got an in-engine result for that? Anyway, like the video! Perhaps give Trackview a shot next time? Also for the stones around the portal, maybe have them moving slightly?
i choose to restart again,.. now, half stone tower with magical rock. On top, attack shard floating. gonna make a "magic shard mine" for the Creep den.
Think people wanting set in stone values, is people hoping if they just follow a few guidelines that their texture work will be as good as the pros. Problem is you need a eye as well
First thing I think that needs to be addressed would be the normals, try dropping the noise a little, there too much density making it look like it's shaped out of stone.
