Their systems over there are way more unstable then our north American ones. When I moved to Scotland I was advised to buy a converter (the thing that looks like a brick) and I am glad that I did because i no doubt saved my PC numerous times. A convertor will offer the protection and peice of mind that an adapator just…
The pocket bike is from digital tutors. Most of it is made of nurbs. I'm reading a book that teaches you how to make game props. I'm learning how to do normal maps. Just started the 1st chapter last night. Making a high poly brick wall and then a low poly version using normal maps. Anybody have a tips?
Good work. A few things I noticed: - The brick pillars that the iron gate is fixed to look they the aren't attached to the ground/don't look sturdy and solid. - There is something bugging me about the tree leaves. Possibly too much contrast or higher pixel density? - The sculptures nipples have fallen off! Little tweaks…
Been working on these textures over the last week and a half, a few of the grass textures and 1 on the brick textures where made earlier that though. All made from my own photos of course :) running out of photos to use though, need to go on a texture hunt with my camera soon. Also made 13 decals so far as well.
With that level of planning this is definitely off to a good start. One thing to watch out for are issues in the concept such as in the first image the red bricks closer to the floor are smaller in scale to the ones near the ceiling which relative to the character are too large IMO ( nope it's not a perspective thing )…
check out Crazybutcher's vertex blend FX material It lets you veiw vertex blending in the viewport, which is nice for terrain stuff, and it also does multiply and overlay textures so you can have a repeating brick pattern on a wall and then use a dirt overlay that is using a seperate UV channel here's a sloppy drawing to…
I saw that image, SupRore. That's also what caused me to wonder what the purpose of DX11 would be in this game because the verts in the silhouette is very noticeable still. And having seen that video, I wanted to know why AVP doesn't do the same because the bricks at the edge of the building in that video very clearly…
dude if you are in london I will come out for a beer. just tell me where you are hanging out. I am working down in brick lane right now and can come out anytime. Perhaps I can drag out a few of the guys from my place. I am working freelance at the moment in house at ' slide'
those are definately some art director-ish type comments very good point on the ground, i've been trying to think of how to make the ground more interesting without building any more props, and you are right the tent things dont make sense, needs some kinda brick or peg to keep em in place thanks for the crit!
I got something simmilar to Spacey in my Textures folder, for example when I found a nice album I want to have it on my hdd I add "whereitcomesfrom_" before the original name and put into folder with others from this type. Same for walls, floors bricks etc so I always know whos photo I'm using.
