Thanks Yadoob. I've figured it out again using cycles render by opening an old blender file where I had the setup. I'm currently using it with cycles cause this gives me a clean ambient light. The thing that throws me off is the alt+z situation. I wish this stuff would be more straightforward. Still love blender though.… -

No, that's just stretching the channels. The result I want is in the image above. That's exactaly what I need. It's just that the baked position map have "polygons" in it from bake, while the position map from the baker in designer gives me a smooth result. Awesome feedback, thanks guys. My ref is wearing bellydance pants, so I modeled them. Kind of a cop out from dealing with acutal anatomy, I know. Thanks for taking the time to test it. in my own case, if I increase the scale of the sphere to 2m in x, y, and z. The scale is about 100 in each axis and I hit apply scale and rotation. The wave modifier movement disappears. Maybe my Blender version is bugged or something. Will download the latest version which is Blender… -

Do you not find though that zbrush will always have bad seams regardless of whether you have your tool set to paint in Z only or not? Also dropping your mesh to the canvas then using the grab Mrgb tool is no good as it will always create a dodgy seam that is impossible goo to fix. even with blur or smudge. As for mudbox.… -

I wasn't a fan of the first armor WIP shots but I gotta say it's turning great. I'm still not super fan of the "Z"-lighting shape of the armor on the front of the upperleg but that's from the original concept so... :) The collar looks fine to me like that, I like seeing some neck area. M<aybe you could use a proggy like Ultramon (not freeware, but there are progs like it for free) to minimize the hassle? I have ctrl-\ (with the \ next to my 'z' key [logitech navigator]) mapped to switch the mouse/tablet cursor between monitors. Works great for me...with the exception that 3dsmax just won't run correctly… -
