Well in the case of that diablo 2 opening cinematic it's just so powerful conceptually and the narraration is just superb. It doesn't matter that it looks dated. In Starcraft 2 the abandoned Kerrigan cinematic borrowed heavily from the Brood war opening cutscene and for that, I found it to be the most powerful. There is…
Not really a game mechanic but ticking checkboxes on open world game, makes the whole story/ chapter feels disconnected one to another. Games like Metal Gear Solid V or Mirror's Edge Catalyst, used to be great game but once become open world, for me, it feels less the impact.
Very cool. The opening of the gameplay movie was alright, got a little slow when they were killing bugs, but then the transport ship flyaround definitely had my jaw on the floor. What an awesome seamless world. Big open seamless multiplayer persistent world plus FPS is a combination that is ripe for the picking.
Very nice work! However, scope caps don't bounce around like that. They are spring-loaded and pop all the way open and stay in place until they're pushed closed. Might I suggest adding an animation that shows the hand popping them open when readying the rifle for use?
I hope everyone lands on their feet! If you find your self looking for work on the East side Avalanche NYC got few positions open. I just posted this http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=131447 We got a few design and programming positions open as well.
It now doesn't crash when I open 3rd instance of the program and try to open a scene there (big one for me). Other than that, edges/verts of faces that are almost parallel with line of sight still cannot be selected when in perspective/camera view and it still crashes every once in a while.
Im not sure what you had in mind, but in my mind just rotating your picture 90 degrees makes it have a lot more personality; the opening seems a bit like an eye that way. With the doors fully open it almost looks like > : ( Maybe I'm crazy, though :P
