@cptSwing You still gotta fiddle with the resolution but... ...you can use the Baked Tag in the lightmap parameters to assign objects to a particular lightmap. You can do this with enlighten already. It's one of the key features that helped my demo render quickly too.
I cannot show an exemple actually because we're hard working. But modifiers have the power to be additive and can be deactivated on the fly it's like a ctrl+z more powerfull. That's all i can say. It's really usefull here for trying things quickly.
Chris's advice about specializing is sound. I'd show some more prop work from high poly through texturing to show your understanding of pipeline. Maybe tackle new projects with small scope to get updated work out there quickly.
Yeah, what pior said. I've tried to integrate CAD into my workflow a few times now and while it's great if you nail it the first time around, iterating sucks. Everything gets locked in quickly and changing things basically means rebuilding.
Marvelous Designer has sparked in me the idea that fashion-design concepts will now be easier to quickly draft out in 3D. That demo from Kojima Productions definitely sparked my interest, though I wish they sold the program at a discounted rate for students.
Hahaha, Jackablade. Well that would have normally been me, but unfortunately I'm now in the same timezone as the "Yanks". We do appreciate all the reports as it makes tracking down the spam posts quicker and we'll get to cleaning them as quickly as possible.
@Stefmon - Oh I'm sorry... I read your response too quickly... I really like the idea of the hair blowing forwards. Have to think about that one ;) @Brian "Panda" Choi - Yeah that's what Stefmon suggested. I might try that.
Very important: Make sure you turn off GI on the time of day. The bright terrain is bouncing off and tinting your asset of yellow. You can quickly turn it's rendering on/off in the Hide by Category tab - Render Settings / Global Iluminator
Thanks! Yes and no, the environment in the screenshot above is a sort of offshoot of the main project. Wanted to do something a bit smaller that I could finish quickly. 100% plan to go back to the original environment though its likely I would redo most of it.
thanks everyone, I quickly changed up some stuff I am thinking about doing in photoshop. I think its starting to look a lot better already. just gotta change out that side vent to something more interesting.
