You can't push an edge outside an existing face in max but there are plenty of other ways to achieve the roof overhang example. I'd probably snap my pivot to one of the top vertices and scale it although using face constraint might do it
Looks really cool, but for some reason, to me it kind of looks like it's made of white chocolate. Maybe some roughness break-up, or vertical striations would look nice. Sweet sculpt though :)
Where would I put those vertical edges in this particular model? tried method 2 with the Bevel Node. It's almost the same as using the bevel modifier on the sharp angles. Worked pretty well too:
I can’t say what the exact cause is but here’s some things to try. - turn off triangulate in the export settings - check that the vertices are welded - check for more than one vertex color set
here- I assume this is what you mean, AsaNYC. The horizontal loops are not the issue- the vertical loops are. You can reduce your tri count on the neck and back of the head without loosing much definition.
if you're using the official examples (Procedural), have a look at the "Sculpt Vertices" scene (in particular the "PaintVertices" script. From the looks of it, you have to reapply the new mesh to the mesh collider component for it to update that as well.
I find that this happens sometimes if there is a face that has no space on the UV map. For example, a triangle that has been mapped as a straight vertical line, or a single pixel, or something like that. It affects the faces around it as well.
Are you holding x to snap to the grid? If you aren't. holding v will snap to components like vertices and joints. Sometimes the camera angle affects grid snapping but typically that means it doesn't snap to anything.
I'm seeing ngons and triangles in places hence the bumpiness that gives off in lighting. Always check for them as much as possible. In some cases try using average vertices and harden edges where it needs to be.
Lunch Update. Mad respect to character artists. Its tough business for sure! Made his backback a little more vertical and added a scroll! Let me know what yall think. thanks
