I seem to have run into a snafu. The floating rings are making my normal map look terrible when I bake it. I may have to do each of them separately and then paste them together after the fact.
Crazy indeed. Thanks for the first pic there. So do you make a bunch of floating shells and then retopologize so things are mostly one solid piece? Could you post the concept art you were referencing from?
I tried some tests with particle hair and SSS in blender. Kinda looks like a wax figure though >_< I also tried to give him a beard, but the hair's were floating on his face,so i removed it
"Influenced" huh? More like copied and flipped. At least give credit man. The topology seems decent, the mesh is too boxy for an organic model, but then again its a very zoomed out view. Give us a nice large beauty shot and post the texture, as that is probably the part in most need of crit. Very flat. The proportions are…
Just worked a bit on the book, which I hope will work as a focus for the scene. Instead of having the runes floating over the book, I thought it might be better here to have some of the writing light up. What do you guys think?
So far so good, I would stick with finishing the environment before messing with the lighting, it's not bad to place lighting in there when your working on it, but not production level, but that's just my idea, whatever floats your boat :) looks good either way.
The neck is really bothering me on this piece, the head looks like a separate piece floating in front of the body, the back and sides of the neck really dips down between the neck and the head, and for most bulky people or the goron drawing the dip would be very faint.
I have disliked some of the things that Adobe has been doing, and since I'm not really working professional with it anymore, I dropped it completely. I'm doing okay with GIMP now, though still have to get used to the floating windows system.
Thanks Enalya! Hehe.. Now that you mention it, it does look like a WoW yeti.. Wasn't intentional, but I may have to remedy that. I've got some design ideas floating around that I'll be playing with. Thanks for checking it out and reading the story!
Here's an update on this piece, haven't posted on it since I started this thread. I have the buttons and red light LED’s as floating geo at the moment. I was trying to figure how the guards would slide out. EDIT: It rotates instead, going to change that.
