For me it's more convenient since I automatically get the alpha and normal map when I do the bakes (On Xnormal). The normal map has great detail as it's baked from actual geometry. I also get the crisp and nice alpha, and even an AO with the shadow information, would I want to (It's helpful when doing the diffuse). But… -
