havent actually gone back to check that landscape but in a different project i found that forcing shadow cache invalidation on the landscape to static cleared up a load of crappy shadowing artefacts. obviously not useful if you plan to animate your landscape in some way but I dont think that's a common use case
I haven't used it but I have seen an Extrude and preserve UV's in Bonus Tools. But trying to keep UV's alive at same time as modeling does seem like exercise in frustration to me. Sometimes I use edge slide with preserve UV's but that's more during modeling tweaking phase, not creation

Blocking the basic shapes in using inserted meshes was quite helpful, actually, since they're not bound by the low poly and grid-stuck form of the dynamesh until they're meshed in. Your model looks a lot cleaner! Yeah the biggest issue I had were the armrests. Getting the right shape and making them naturally connect to the bottom of the sofa, seems difficult. Im not sure what an easy way to go about it would be. Thanks for the example
