@Tiles - well, in theory that sounds reasonable ... but in actual practice this isn't quite as simple as it seams seems for a number or reasons : 1 - The unwrap may have been fully done already, in a very clean way but just missing the split-and-spread. This can happen when reworking an earlier asset, or even simply when…
Thomasp : - On my setup, in both cases (2.74 and 2.76rc), manipulating one or more verts within a lvl4 monkey head results in 22fps in polygonal cage mode, and 16fps in smoothed cage mode. OpenGL Select/Occlusion doesn't seem to cause any performance loss or gain in my case, hence I leave it to automatic. - The time…
@Justo #1 Using the Add > Image > (Reference or Background) both remain visible in all view modes. If you're talking about importing an actual mesh object and using it as the image background then you'll need to go to Solid display mode and change the settings Color > Texture. For this to work you will also need to load…
Thanks guys, you got them all. I'll be rolling too with the 1px face centers too for now, and see how work is affected by this. It's a shame though that Blender hand-holds users into having to go over this center to select the face while in XRay. I think it should trust in the user's ability to be able to make selections…
Yea, that was all 2.58, with the ray distance and bias set to 0. :) Do you get an error message, or is this something you have noticed? That means that you dont have an image assigned to the object you are trying to bake to. Make sure you assign a new image to your LP while it is in edit mode. Then select the HP and shift…
Make sure you leave the node that you want to bake to (image node) "selected" while you hit the Bake Button. It's a minor thing no one actually notices and poorly sinalized over documentation. You can have as many material slots each with thousands of texture nodes included on them, it will only bake into the image node…
