Day 18, w/ an additional nightstand: Also took a moment to throw a few of these assets into one scene to see how they are looking together: The desk fan seems like it's blending into the dresser, so I'll have to adjust the values on the fan to help separate it.
Awesome !! nothing else to say. Do you think it's possible to make a small tutorial about how you made your textures ? I'm really curious of your process. And one time again....A W E S O M E
Allegorithmic's video stuff has been fantastic to get into the software with, but looking up a specific function later is a pain. Trying to remember which video it's in and where is very hard. The tutorials that I keep coming back to for years is text w/ good pictures.
This image has what you wants doesn't it? http://wiki.polycount.com/w/images/1/11/Topo_body-BenMathis.jpg I would just use zbrush or Mudbox and then bake it down though. Unless there's a reason why you have to do it all in Maya?
I have some reference pics that may help you w/ edgeloops. I don't know from where they come, but they're not from my models, all rights and respect to their respective creators: Just keep cracking at it and don't get frustrated.
i love this character and w/e alien race it might be my only suggestion is to add more detail or brushed/scratched detail in the spec unless this is a brand new suit but i think it might make it more interesting ...be subtle if you decide to
NeoprofZ (Nick W) kidnapped him; We have him tied up in the basement and feed him only bananas. This is what we do to people who provide useful insights into game dev; Expect someone to come looking for you Aubrey!
Get this message when I try to use element-baking: "Runtime error: dotNet runtime exception: W:\current\projects\img_renderToClipboard.bmp" AO baking and wireframe to clipboard still works fine. edit: reinstalled version 2.80 for now, temporary fix :)
turning off vertical sync helped my performance in 2d images. Painting on a 3d model is OK if the texture doesn't have layers, but i tried painting on a model that had a psd w/ like 20 or so layers and it wasnt very fun.
Also, here's the first sculpt/highpoly post of my sketchbook! A female head. Without hair and other cool stuff. But w/e :p Really want feedback on this one! Help me out guys :) (I can see now that the front pic look weird.. sigh)
