Personally I would recommend sculpting anatomy studies to learn basic sculpting skills. Make a convincing ear or hand or nose based on real reference. Make some simple posed figures based on real reference etc etc. Once youve done this you will have a better foundation for making wierd monster/creature things that will… -

@naturon Thanks man. Yeah I'm not done working on the sculpt yet, so I will definitely work on that. Furs, shoes, sword, etc etc. Comicon Challenge so far is like a black hole, sucking in hours and hours of my time.. I do enjoy the progress I'm making, but, man, I just wanna climb out of the valley of the suck I'm in. -

Things like mesh detail, texture resolution, etc may effect the end result, so there really isn't any shortcut to simply testing it yourself. Though I usually use a high ray number like 1024 to avoid banding artifacts. Depending on how slow/fast yout computer is you'll want to try various values. no free lunch etc -

I'm remembering all the games I used to play - Deus ex, starcraft, star wars nights of the old republic, morrowind, then the newer games of the witcher, deus ex, mass effect, etc etc....I don't play too many but these are all games where the environment really stood out for me and made the game extra awesome for me… -

I dunno, instead of purple, perhaps throw in a few missing chunks + some brown on the edges? Also more hippy stuff, the more peace sings etc you can give him the better. Jewellery etc. Right now he looks like a Japanese fisherman. :D Another quick paintover to show what I mean. Oh and hippie. -

Overkill, unfortunately. There's a lot of feedback needed, so I suspect others haven't wanted to make the leap. Decals should be used sparingly.
