A new project - simply because I like mountains and I want to tackle my nemesis :D Vertical cliffs. For this task I took references of the Dolomites and came up with this. Super rough by now, but it's still the blockout phase.
WIP17 Drafting a poster for the beauty shot. There's a couple more details I want to fix. Skinning is where I need it to be at for the pose. Want to bring this into unreal to do animated vertices displacement on masked areas of the Ultralisk and gif the animation.
If I used a Symmetry modifier while modeling, might I have ended up with hidden vertices that overlap but aren't connected? I'm at work currently so I can't actually check but maybe that's my issue :O
Looking good so far. One thing that I find though is that the upper body may be a bit vertically squished but that could just be me. Are you going to include that armor plating from the concept? Regardless keep it up.
When I visit, I like to check and see waas sappening in GD, it would be nice if it were more visible, but that's just me being picky. Oooor if there was a little less vertical padding on the headers?? :D :D ? :D
The main issue I'm seeing is that the folds and drapes all run horizontally, as if it were a bed sheet wrapped tightly around the character. Generally for a cloak the drapes run vertically, because the points of tension are mostly up on the head and shoulders.
If you have watched the 3d motive UDK skydome tutorial you will have noticed that a hemisphere was used. If you wanted to look down, then you would use a complete sphere, or duplicate the hemisphere and flip it vertical in the games editor.
Polyline Pro 3 is available. It offers you the new Edit Mode which allows you to edit splines quickly, by moving their vertices using all features that Polyline Pro offers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKjdPfHqjW0
What if you want more vertices in the Landscape? Higher resolution relative to your characters. The only way I could find to do this is to set the XYZ scales to smaller numbers. I haven't tested the collision yet though.
Hello everyone! You guys are super fast. The first time, I will do the environment. I try to build blockout closest to concept, then move the vertices and make normal size and position of objects. Any comments and critics welcome.
