Isn't the Adventure Update not coming out until mid October? Heck, with typical delays, it won't be out or patched into a playable state until next year. Bit early to be mourning your stuff.
That exact same thing happened to me... Even if i just sent another e-mail w/ download links or just plain text I kept getting the delayed message error.
Thank you @Ashervisalis I reduced the noise a bit: I'm still a bit on the fence whether I should make a more damage variant to vertex paint with or if I should use decals.
Apparently with windows 10 pro you can delay the updates, I don't know how long. But still the auto updates crap is going to hurt adoption, not sure what MS is thinking.
Thanks man! I meant to ask things like are normal maps needed, are cars uniquely unwrapped or do they use tiling textures for, say, the car paint and add decals separately, etc.
You could probably do with baking some AO to the vertices and also add a few decals, also the stones and wood still look quite noisy. Hope this helps - http://wiki.polycount.com/ModularMountAndBlade
spec needs work, and the scratch detail on the corner pieces is too much, it;s very obvious there all the exactly the same, could tone it down a bit, and use some decals to add it back.
Hey there question for the VFX comp. Does the spell have to be a projectile? Can it be a mine or delayed explosion. Heres an example : Lucky im not entering the concept art contest :P It does not have to be a projectile.
Looks like it just places decals or triangle strips on the ground, then it just uses a nice parallax occlusion mapping shader, or relief mapping. Definitely doesn't appear to be tessellation due to the 'lack of' shading.
I've only done one art test in the last decade or so, but the studio was perfectly happy to offer up their criticisms. You can and absolutely should ask where you need to improve.
