reconstruct subdivision in zbrush and then uv the lowest level. really you would never have to uv the highest level model even if you don't intend to make a low poly version. if you uv the lowest subdivion level , this passes though to the highest level anyway
I moved your thread out of General Discussion and into the appropriate subforum. How do you intend to use this model once you have completed it? That has a direct bearing on which method you use to fix it. Why does it need to be 1 smoothing group?
@3DKyle Thanks dude. It's been a fun challenge. Yours is looking sharp too (no pun intended) :yum: @ThePowFin I like the colors and the dust in the crevices. Cool stuff! Here's the final thing. Did some minor tweaks to shapes and color since last time.
Also having a problem where some of my materials are simply being ignored during generation. I have tried using the colours from quixel (in PS) i have tried using primary colours but neither seems to capture all my intended materials.
I think for the sharp edges I was trying to see if my low poly needed to keep some round edges or needed to be sharp. For the material your right. I went with the default painted steel material in substance but wasn’t sure how the concept was intended to appear.
Thanks for the reply!, The assets in the postapocaliptic set are finished, the set itself was intended to grow as more "garbage" apear there. But I think I should remove the 'WiP" just to avoid the confusion around this section. The wires yes I will add them on the remaining pieces of my work. :)
hi guys had more time today ^^ Marko Richter thx for the tip i really dint realize that until you brought it up Silver Spade it was intended to be just a block at that time...but now it is part of the mesh. Do you think its ok now?
no they are not. you are alowed to carry up to a certain amount, bellow that it is consider for consuption, above that you get persecuted as someone who intended to sell. dont know the exact amounts though, but they are pretty small. its the line between user and dealer that is still very blurry unfortunately.
it'll flag that if you have any uv's outside 0 - 1. if that's what you intended to set up then yeah. you gotta follow those instructions it gives you and export multiple maps. otherwise it's back to your uv editor to make a few tweaks
first thought was it looked like hellboy :P no intended insult with that comment, just the facial structure and texture reminded me of it.. very cool tho only crit it the teeth are too flat (on the actual model), put some curve into that jaw, those guys are meat eaters!
