The tools to deal with this are... edit mode, Ctrl+T to tessellate, Ctrl+Shift+F to 'turn', Alf+J to convert back to quad. Generally speaking once you do that the quad keeps it's turned edge orientation.

ah, I never read it as an A because of the shading inside the letter. I kept reading it as an 'I' or an 'F', without looking to closely. Now you've mentioned it, it seems obvious... but It's not how I read it to begin with :P

F this whole floating normal map malarkey, who has the secret tips to make hi res models without the floaty bits. Where is the magic to just make the high res mechanical models quickly.
