I am a student and I have a 17" screen, and... the weight of the laptop is a pain, but I have lost inches off my waist line. I wouldn't give up those 2 inches, my battery life was about 1hour 45minutes. The only thing I use my desktop for is rendering. -

I'm only seeing noise in the last image really, but I agree, you should alwaysshoot at base ISO, which is 100 on that camera, for this sort of stuff. Base ISO will give you the least noise, and most color depth an dynamic range with any camera. You should also shoot in raw, and process the files yourself in Lightroom or… -
