I was just wondering, the 700k model is not for a movie its for a render, I never intended to make a short animated movie. I just wanted more info on how you do it and what software you use to accomplish something like that :) .
And the more I look at it, the more I want to redo it but I want to get through at least learning how to clearly define his features first so when I get passed that, I'll redo it to what I really intended. ^^;
I just got myself a license for the Houdini Engine, it looks like it would suit a lot of my personal projects where I have already automated a lot of things with Designer and our batch tools. (no self promotion intended here)
Yeah, I hear you Perna. That's kind of why I asked really. It's more of a... "With only three months, is it too early to be considering shortcuts this far ahead?" I still intend to solely master basics as my main focus for the year.
Guys, I'm so happy about these concepts. I mean really, was looking for sometong in this style for a moment now. I might start it slowly but I intend to finish it even if at the end of the month I half half of a hipoly. Thanks for the concepts.
UDK can't sort translucency based off of depth from camera as far as I know. You can manually set the translucency sort priority for each individual mesh, but that will cause problems for you if you intend to move around in the environment.
i'l vouch for unity if you dont have much experience, but UDK in the long run if you intend to really delve deep into the features each engine has to offer. then again, unity is quickly catching up on a lot of things UDK has
just disable HDR tonemapper to remove the contrast enhanced tonemapping. The HDR Tonemapper is intended to work with more HDR centric content where the textures are a bit milkier and the lights are brighter. Moving to it from existing levels/content requires some work.
A picture without the wires would be nice aswell, i dont know about others but when im trying to look at a texture they distract me :P. It looks like it suits the style you intended it for. I think its cute :P
Hey, I like your organisation so far :) But was it intended to make such lowres textures for the concrete pile? its really blurry and details vanished, cant even notive zbrush detailing there ;) Good luck with this promising project, I will keep an eye on it.
