I went through this in 2000-2001. I've had other people confirm that it was really really hard to get hired right after the .com crash. Part of this was the influx of people like me wanting to make games with teams still being ~30-60 people. This is before all the Ubisoft / Assassins Creed and GTA explosions. MMOs etc..… -
