Thanks a lot for the feedback guys, I am lost without you polycount :) I worked on everything mentioned so far except the jaw- I think I am going to leave that as it is for now. Image with the changes I made:
Except for JordanN's information there is no difference really, unless it is production specific. I dont know how high poly goes in substance but a quick way would be ZBrush to Keyshot, dont worry about a low poly version if there is no animation involved.
Thanks mike, going to nail those as soon as i get home. My base mesh is the same as the one on page 4 except reposed and the hip was moved up. Yes I start from scratch almost every time
Pretty sure peter jackson used something similar in lord of the rings, except I think he had a vr helmet not a tablet, but he could move around and choose his camera angles from what I remember.
There's no colossal difference between the two really, except for the DRM and the sales licensing. UDK wins on the latter two points. I prefer CE3s landscaping tools, as they're more developed, but that's not a big enough difference to stop me using UDK.
You got the 90 degree part (kinda) right. Except for this part here; You can optimize the dust cover a lot more. Just because you're aiming for 10k tris, doesn't mean you should waste any.
This is pretty good! Except the ending has a linear interpolated drop-down, which looks very mechanical. Also why didn't you loop it? Could also use some feather wiggling, see reference of real eagles flying.
All right. GameRez model & UV's w/ heavy mirroring (basically everywhere except for the face, hair & headphones for some non symmetric textures): ...and the ao applied to it. What do you think? Next up will be values, lightbakes & textures.
managed to get the door started while only using textures that were already in the scene (except for a small decal sheet with stickers). And also deviating a little from the concept to get more of a sense of who's living there, and some cables in the concept.
This is awesome! I am weak at texturing too, so I wont have much to say in that regard except that maybe the handle should be a more golden shade of yellow, and it seems like it is too dirty for how pristine the blade part is.
