Generally some areas on the model are really hard edged, to the point that they look like lowpoly + smoothing groups. The area on the lower receiver where you inset the mag for instance, this should have some nice soft shapes to but it seems very blocky. You need not to apply the material by the way. Just select the mesh (head) go to rendering options or something that says "create UV" apply a planer or best fit.
