thanks for the kind replies earlier on this. I finished the base paint of the helmet and started the body. moving a long slow, but steady... It's entirely unwrapped now, so no more procrastinating for me. I'll try not to post this sucker again till I get it pretty further a long. SFate, that face is looking solid!
Japhir, not bad... certainly coming along well. Default is right though, you should go in with some harder brushes and pick out planes that light hits, to better define the volumes and shapes that the mesh can't get. I hope you don't mind, I did a quick paintover to show what I mean: Basically I think your light sources…
Dang so much nice new stuff in here! SekNeox, that head is looking so ace. I wish you'd come up with the concept too, but it's cool anyway. I like how you did the hair, especially since it's watertight on the face mesh. Daz, great job on Q and Bondo. I think Q's wrinkles could stand to have a bit more volume, especially…
one of a planned platoon of space marine faces that may end up in the WiMP mod for UT2K4 (still to hear on that). "Pearly" here is still in the juicy painting stage, a little too high-con yet, but I like how he's lookin'. Odd silhouette is because he fits into an existing spacesuit skin.
jesus christ so much awesome stuff here that i feel small... anyway , this is the sculpt of a face of a character im working on my sparce free time , i tried to not make him simetrical, i decided to curve the lips a bit and play around with the bone structure...meh... EDIT : ALTERED IMAGE
i recognised the face straight away fuse, but the highlights give me that "dodged" impression, which makes it look more like dry skin. ferg: i wanted to get it into zbrush as soon as possible, so the base mesh is pretty ugly http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/shika01/e10ec7e6.jpg
Jaco, major sweetness. I agree about the front of the face, though. It doesn't have the same cool style as the side view. Spitty, it looks pretty accurate, but I think I agree that some areas may be a little washed out. looks like he's going for Freedom of Teach's anatomy model
few days of the awkward normal map dance http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v668/killnpc/NMfun02.jpg didn't have the nvidia ps filter at work so i used the lighting effects filter in each channel. this one was way funner that punching myself in the face after every RTT attempt (max7).
[ QUOTE ] Arsh, looks good. You captured your likeness very well. The only thing that's missing is Ben's balls in your mouth. [/ QUOTE ] I knew it was missing something. The face needs to be posed so it looks like your laughing with Ben's balls in yer mouth. It's just so close, it hurts.
Ok worked a bit on the face texture, have to remove the eye shadows more, they make him older then he should be. And i have to read me into UT3 materials, want to get a more toon style shading, not soooo smooth and 3d as it is right now. Is there a Ressource (tutorials or premade) for UT3 shaders anywhere?
