As a big fan of this game I'm really happy to see someone working on recreating it, and the result so far is very good. I've one suggestion (as my technical knowledge is very basic), the original game was more saturated in colours, for example the sand texture look a little bit too pale, imho.
Thanks fab-camp! I appreciate your appreciation for the deco. I'm planning on doing the diffuse first, then tailoring the textures to use ndo for my normal map creation. we shall see how that turns out :P
Sure @EricThomasStudios Wht i mean by breakdowns is, show us your wire frame, and some texture sheets. Sketch fab models and videos are nice, butihonestly think pics work way better.
Thank you very much, fab-camp! I sharpened the pictures and adjusted the contrast a little bit. It should be better now. 1920px x 1080px should be enough? Critiques and Comments are very welcome! :)
Thanks for the comments, I knew it wouldn't fit when I was making it but I wanted to make something generic, since everyone is doing HUD's based on heroes, and the ones in the workshop are already pretty top notch. It is stated on the FAQ though that the HUD's shouldn't be far off the Dota universe but oh well :poly121:
I love it. Works like that is why I want to learn Zbrush while I keep working on my Environment portfolio. As far as the Evangelion look, you nailed it. I'm a huge fan of that series and that looks like it could be a human sized EVA. Could also fit into Mass Effect, the evolution of the Geth??
I've dabbled in many sculpting programs. Mudbox first, and a little later, sculptris. But I've always struggled picking up Zbrush. The ui wasn't intuitive like mudbox, and most of the time I had to try and learn it, I was on a deadline where spending time figuring it out wasn't really an option. Finally I set time aside to…
Hey, yes having them thicker and get thinner towards hands/feet looks more believable imo. Like there is more fat. Tried an overpaint, where I also moved the arms and leaned forward to balance the weight. Might be too far away from your idea, looks more animal like maybe. Just an idea.
Yesssssss! Looks great! Those texture breakdowns are fab. Good job sticking to this and polishing it off. :) One last question for the future from me, do you have all these options ticked on in all these shots?
I used to have a Razer Naga which had a similar numbers of buttons and layout, but found the side buttons far to small and hardly any space between them to distinguish which button was which and my fingers aren't that fat. :P Still I find it hard to get used to any other mouse after using Deathadders for years.
